Does Apple TV replace cable?

I just got Apple TV. If I have high speed internet, can I ditch my cable channels?

If you still want to be able to access ‘traditional’ live/linear TV channels, then you can subscribe with an internet streaming TV provider, instead of the cable company’s TV plan.

For the US, this is offered by Hulu, YouTube TV, Sling TV, fuboTV, Philo, DirecTV Stream (and maybe Pluto TV, Xumo to some extent).

All these services have apps for the Apple TV box (4th generation or later). Find apps in the Apple TV App Store - Apple Support.
