I haven't used my apple watch in a while and now I am unable to do a software update my apple watch in order to connect with iPhone

Hello! Your Apple Watch supports up to watchOS 8.7.1 while the current is 9.3.1. To update it make sure it is on its charger and connected with wi-fi. Keep in mind that if your iPhone is on iOS 16, it might not be able to connect. Have a great day!
