Keyboard backlit not working

My backlit keyboard doesn’t work. There is no option to enchanted keyboard brightness in the keyboard settings. And the buttons to make it brighter does not work. They recently did but all of a sudden doesn’t. How do I solve this issue? Do I need to take the back off and re-establish connections?

There are a few things you can try to troubleshoot this issue with your MacBook Pro's backlit keyboard:

  1. Check keyboard settings: Make sure that the "Adjust keyboard brightness in low light" option is turned on. You can find this option in System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard. If this option is turned off, turn it on and check if the backlit keyboard starts working.
  2. Restart your MacBook Pro: Sometimes, restarting your MacBook Pro can fix the issue with the backlit keyboard. Save your work and then click on the Apple menu in the top left corner of your screen, and select Restart.
  3. Reset SMC and PRAM: Resetting the SMC (System Management Controller) and PRAM (Parameter RAM) can help resolve issues with hardware including the backlit keyboard. To reset SMC, shut down your MacBook Pro, hold down Shift + Control + Option keys and then press the power button. Release all the keys at once, and then turn on your MacBook Pro. To reset PRAM, restart your MacBook Pro and hold down Command + Option + P + R keys until you hear the startup sound twice.
  4. Check keyboard shortcuts: Make sure that the keyboard shortcuts for adjusting the keyboard brightness are not disabled. You can check this in System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Display.
  5. Check physical connection: If none of the above solutions work, it's possible that the backlit keyboard's physical connection is loose. You can try to re-establish connections by carefully removing the back cover of your MacBook Pro and checking the connections. However, this should only be done by a professional or someone with experience as it can be risky.

If none of the above solutions work, it's recommended that you take your MacBook Pro to an authorized Apple repair center or an experienced technician to diagnose and fix the issue.
