Refund for purchase using Apple Pay

made a purchase with John Lewis online using Apple Pay. Been told by John Lewis the refund has been made and it’s in a holding account and to contact Apple Pay so the can locate it using the reference number provided by John Lewis.


Contacted Apple Pay - they said they can’t/ won’t help.


Contacted credit card- they said they can’t/ won’t help


Contacted John Lewis- same response.


constantly getting hand off from all organisations- can anyone help?!!!

welcome to the Apple (user-to-user) Community.


Seems the refund has been made from the merchant, and your card provider will eventually release it to the same account you used for the purchase. It should appear on your card-statement within 30 days. ... (Am no expert, I could be wrong).

Apple Pay is not really an account as such, merely handles the transfer from card-provider account to merchant.

How long refunds generally take seems to be similar to purchases from Apple:
