49" Screen stretched image with with MacBook Pro 2022 M1

Hi - I have bought a Prism+ 49" Screen, 32:9 aspect ratio - and the windows on the screen are stretched. Even if I minimise the windows, the text and images are still stretched. I have Ventura 13.2.1 downloaded, and the screen is connected via the HDMI on the MacBook to the screen. How can I fix the fonts/text and images so they are not stretched?

if you have selected [√] Mirror Displays, BOTH displays are set to a computed "compromise" resolution that both may be able to achieve.

Sometimes this "compromise" resolution produces less than desirable effects, such as stretching one display, or a display blanks out.

be sure you have unchecked that option.

Hello ralfjnr,

It sounds like you've already tried the steps in Change Displays settings on Mac and you're still seeing images and text stretched on your external display.

For additional help with this, we'd recommend contacting the manufacturer for your display. They'll have additional resources and the ability to provide any available support for this issue. You can contact them here: Contact Us – PRISM+

Take care!
