"Allow network users to log in at login window" not appear

Hello!

I am trying to enroll a new Mac Pro to AD.

I have succeeded to Bind the Mac to AD but I cannot find the "Allow network users to log in at login window". When I am on Users & Groups nothing is opening.

The OS is Ventura 13.1.

How can I do to open that setting?

Network user unable to log I've just set up a new Macbook Pro but am having problems logging in as a network user. This is the first time I've done this with Monterey but didn't expect it to be any different than earlier macOS versions. There are older Macs connecting with no problems but I must admit it's a while since they were set up so I can't be 100% sure I've not missed something. In the Login Options of Users & Groups, the Network Account Server displays correctly with a green "light". In Directory Utility - Directory Editor, I can view LDAP users after selecting that server in the "node" dropdown and selecting any user in the list displays the values I'd expect in the righ-hand pane. From the login screen if I enter a network user account and deliberately enter the wrong password, the spinner appears for a second or two and then the password field shakes before returning to the login screen which is just as I would expect. However, if I enter the correct password, the credentials fields disappear (as expected) and the spinner continues ... apparently indefinitely. I've left it trying for nearly 30 minutes and it does not finish or timeout. A forced power down seems to be the only way to stop it. Does anyone know what might be causing this and how to go about fixing it?

File sharing with Mac Studio Problem sharing files with Mac Studio: Other computers on network not logging on the Mac Studio, while Mac Studio could log onto them for file sharing after migrating from Intel iMac Pro to new M2 Mac Studio Ultra. When attempting to connect from an Intel MacBook Pro to an M2 Mac Studio Ultra, this error message displayed when clicking on Network\Mac Studio\Connect: There was a problem connecting to the server "Mac Studio server name" The server may not exist or is unavailable... I found this suggestion on OS10Daily, The article suggests toggling off file sharing, restarting and then turning it back on. This was done and the next logon attempt (by clicking Connect As…) showed the password entry window. I entered the password and got this message, "Access to your account on the server "Mac Studio server name" has been denied. The only variable not previously changed was the Login Items. I removed the only item from the Mac Studio Login Items, and toggled background items on and off leaving a couple off and restarted the Mac Studio. Then, from the MBPro, I clicked on Network\ Mac Studio\Connect and was logged on to the Mac Studio and was connected. I disconnected and repeated this and again was connected The Mac Studio now appeared in Locations in the MacBook Pro's sidebar, as well. Interestingly, even when Mac Studio would not permit a logon, toggling File Sharing on and off, Mac Studio appeared and disappeared from the Network locations list, keyboard and mouse sharing between the Mac Studio and MBPro worked, and dragging files between the two worked, suggesting a permission issue as opposed to a firmware issue. The problem could be partly a firmware problem, given I did reinstall Sonoma (which could have updated the firmware), but it had no effect until the settings were changed as above.. Summary: · Reinstall Sonoma (MacOS 14.0) · Turn off File Sharing, Reboot, turn on file sharing (toggles appearance of Mac Studio in MBPro’s network; logon window appears after clicking connect, but access is denied) · Remove items from Login Items and toggle background items on and off leaving some off and restart Mac Studio. Keep removing background permissions until l connection works. It appears that migration from Intel Macs to Apple silicon Macs may not be trouble free and resolving the conflicts with file sharing can be challenging. [Edited by Moderator]

MacOS bound to Active Directory will not allow AD account to login after reboot I have an office that we have just recently converted to Mac Minis, and are up to date with the latest code: Ventura 13.3.1 (a). Ever since we started using them, we have had consistent issues where neither the AD user, or an AD admin can unlock the machine after it reboots. Yes, we have FileVault enabled, and therefore, it is only allowing it to authenticate by using the local administrator account on the machine BEFORE allowing AD staff to login. I have attempted to add myself and other users to the Users and Groups settings to allow at login, but still does not help. I am being stonewalled by the local admin prompt every time it reboots. I also have found that, when using VPN (remote), I cannot login to the machine remotely (even if I use/send the local admin credentials) with ARD if the computer has rebooted. It will outright refuse the connection until someone has authenticated with the local admin account on the machine itself. I have to either breach security by giving my staff member the local admin account passwords OR I have to drive down to the office myself, and login and log out of the local admin account in order for them to access it via AD. I am aware that there have been many forums with issues similar to (or the same as) this over the years, and am wondering if anyone has found a functional workaround.
