How to generate a beep when Caps Lock key is pressed?

I read previous threads, but cannot find the appropriate switches/options to generate a beep on my new Mac mini (running Ventura 13.2.1). Someone told me this is only available via a third party app. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi TomUSMC,

Re: Any suggestions?

Wonder if the beep available on the onscreen keyboard is the one.

Eg:

In Apple support's article:

Change Keyboard settings for accessibility on Mac – Apple Support

If you scroll down:

Under "Set general options for using the Accessibility Keyboard".

says:

"Play sounds for key and dwell actions :

Hear a sound when you select a key on the keyboard or when a dwell action is performed. (Selecting the Caps key makes a sound even when this option is not selected.)"

User Guide:

Voice Control, Switch Control and Accessibility Keyboard User Guide for Mac – Apple Support

If it is not for the onscreen keyboard:

Maybe you could try making a custom shortcut:

Create a custom shortcut on Mac – Apple Support

(Sorry if you can not make a beep there, as I can not test it / still using Monterey.)

All the best :-)
