Is My Company Phone Being Monitored

I have a work phone with Verizon as the carrier and I’m trying to figure out if it’s monitored. I read that if a phone is being monitored it will show in the settings. But do companies have the option to not show the message even if it’s being monitored? Or is it a universal message for ALL monitored phones?

There is a photo I took on my work phone and texted to my personal phone that I’d prefer my company didn’t see (yes, I know, mistake). If I permanently deleted the photo and text (the double delete) can they still find it in the data? This was 6 months ago but it’s been giving me anxiety.

I don’t think they routinely go through phones since it was so long ago and I haven’t heard anything, but I want to make sure I’m in the clear.

Open the Settings app on the iOS device.
Open the General tab.
Click on Profiles & Device Management.

Is there anything there?

If you see the management profile, your phone is being monitored. Your company may be able to see what happens on your phone. You should act like the device is always being viewed as the company could take it and access the information at any time.

If a device was purchased by a company, they can control that using Mobile Device Management configurations. This gives them total control over the device. They can install proprietary spyware apps that ordinarily wouldn't be allowed in the App Store. Normally only very large companies can manage things at this scale, but you didn't say what company it was.

If it's just one picture, I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure your co-workers have far worse on their company devices.

Our company is big but nothing huge. I don’t have a lot of activity on the work phone besides daily emails and calls while on work trips, so hopefully since there’s not a lot of activity it will help? Maybe?
