Hello 1022mom1,

Thanks for connecting with Apple Support Communities.

It appears that your iPhone 8 is not displaying the most recent software update. We'd like to provide you with a few steps that may be able to help resolve the issue:

1. Restart your iPhone to see if that helps. This step refreshes your device, the software and may correct this behavior:

"How to restart your iPhone 6, 7, 8, or SE (2nd or 3rd generation)

  1. Press and hold the side button until the power-off slider appears.

""

2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.

3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo."

2. "Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.

  1. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
  2. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
  3. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install."

More details here: Update your iPhone or iPad

If the update still does not appear, we suggest that complete the update using a computer:

Take care.
