The present release is iOS 16.3.1.. A newer one might be out sooner or later.

We end-users never really know for sure, until it's a choice in iOS updates.

supported general release of iOS for iPhone (or iPadOS)

Automatic updates are better. Have the iDevice on charge

and set to automatic download/update; and if any newer

iOS version is compatible ~ It should download overnight.
