Hello community! I’m about to purchase a Mac studio M1 ultra 128GB, 2TB system with an Apple Studio Display. I’m mainly editing BlackMagic RAW, H.264 and H.265 video. I work on anything from commercials to feature films.
I need some fast external SSDs, minimum of 4 TB. I would likely get 2, using the other as a cache drive.
Does anybody have any recommendations/experience on the best external SSDs in my case?

If speed is important then you want to use an NVME drive in a TB enclosure. That's is what I use with my Mac Studio M1. I use a WD black NVME drive in a Trebleet TB enclosure.

Thanks for your reply. I was looking at the Samsung pro-blade solutions. I believe they use the WD NVMe SSD’s in their enclosures?
Not sure what they use. I always make my own drives.
