I got a security message stating my computer has been locked to stop identity theft, is this a scam

I have a security message stating my computer has been locked because op address was used without consent for identity theft. Is this valid?

No, all such messages are scams presented by criminals. Close the offending page and avoid sites that are involved in such bogus advertising tactics. Do not interact with the message or the sender. Do not download anything based on such bogus messages.
