Hello polgara1,

It sounds like your iPhone is having sound issues, specifically at certain times using the speaker. We have some steps to walk through that may help resolve the issue, or narrow down what might be going on. We'll use this helpful article: If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker - Apple Support

  1. Make sure the Ring/Silent switch is not showing orange (silent).
  2. Go to Settings > Focus > Do Not Disturb to confirm it isn't enabled.
  3. Unplug any headphones and disconnect any Bluetooth paired speakers.
  4. Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
  5. Go to Settings > General > Software Update and install any available iOS updates.
  6. Remove all screen protectors and cases.
  7. Clean any debris from the speaker opening: Cleaning your iPhone - Apple Support
  8. Tap Settings > Sounds & Haptics, drag the Ringer and Alerts slider back and forth a few times.
    • If the slider is dimmed, your iPhone will need to be looked at for service.

Reply back with how these steps do for you. We'll provide additional guidance if the issue persists.

Best regards.
