How can i free up storage from notes app?

How can i free storage from the notes app? I have 22GB worth of storage in notes while i only have about 10 notes. we

iPhone 11, iOS 16

While the Notes app is open, tap “<Folders” in the upper left. Be certain “Recently Deleted” is empty.

Of course, doing this has consequences which presumably you know and accept.
