upgrade ventura NOT showing in upgrades

I'm attempting to upgrade the OS to Ventura on my iMac. It is on the list of upgradable computers. However, when I try to find the upgrade software in the app store or even clicking "Software Update" thru my About this Mac nothing shows up. Help... please.

software update is stuck on "finding update" I'm trying to update my iMac from Catalina to Ventura. My mac is listed on the "compatible" list. My software update does not find the Ventura, or any other os update, and only shows the spinning wheel continuously. I used the app store to find the Ventura update and clicked the "GET" button. I now have a software update window with a progress bar, but it appears it is finding nothing. What are my options?

What processor is showing in "About This Mac" of the Apple Menu? If you are are or were using Mac OS 10.12, it would suggest a computer made in 2016 or earlier and Ventura is compatible with iMac made in 2017 and newer.
