Airpod case is not charging.
My airpods themselves charge completely however the airpod case on the other hand only charges to a max of 4 percent even after I left them plugged in for more that one hour.

You didn't mention which version of AirPods so we can only offer general advice. Please see Apple's suggestions in Charge your AirPods and learn about battery life - Apple Support. If the problems continue after trying all the suggestions, then you should contact Apple Support to arrange to get your AirPods examined by Apple Service, or a Genius Bar visit at your local Apple Store.
Your description of the problem is slightly confusing, because the pods themselves will charge which means the charging case must actually be working.
