IOS 16.3.1 Suddenly mail can not send, error ’the sender is not valid’ How to fix this?

Suddenly I can not send email anymore iPad 16.3.1 (update did not help.)

error says: the sender is not valid.

what??????

the Mail function used to work without problems for years and I did NOT CHANGE anything.

And yes, I checked all settings again, had filled in all the fields.

And yes, I restarted, logged out of iCloud and back in again.

anybody out there with a solution?

As a test, I deleted one of my 7 accounts, ad installed it again.

sending mail from this account 'seems' to work. For now, we will see.
