What is the best home accounting software that I can transfer data from my 'Home Accountz' software please.

Hello. I am currently using 'Home Accountz' software which I love but it is no longer supported and is only compatible up to the Big Sur OS. I would like to be able to upgrade to the latest Mac OS and be able to transfer all my Accounting info safely across. Can anyone recommend a Home Accounting package that would be compatible with transferring the data from the 'Home Accountz' software. I really need help with this. Thank you.

Quicken Deluxe is a very good home money management package. I'm not sure if you can import Home Accountz data into it. Check to see if Home Accountz can export data into a .QIF (Quicken Interchange Format). If so, then Quicken would be able to import that easily. I'm pretty sure Quicken has a trial version you could test with before purchasing. I mention QIF because I see Home Accountz is able to import from a QIF so maybe it will export that format also.

If the Application can Import

1 - CSV (Comma Separated Values),

2 - QIF (Quicken Interchange Format),

3 - OFX (Open Financial Exchange)

It hopefully can Export in any of this Commonly Used File formats

I know having use MS Money at one time back in my Windows days, it would understand any of these File Formats.

I also know Moneydance can use any of this same 3 files formats in Big Sur, Monterey and Ventura

MoneyDance is a Paid Accounting Application that has worked since about Catalina maCO 10.15 and continues to work on Big Sur, Monterey and in Ventura on 3 different computer I own.

Depending on the file format used in " Home Accountz' or what file format that software can Export your Data into - it may or may not work in MoneyDance

As a final word about not losing your data, If Home Accountz cannot export to a specific file format for the one you choose to replace it, try exporting the data as a CSV file format. (comma delimited). Most other applications will import that file format but will require you to know (through trial and error) what each field is so you can adjust them for importing properly. That said, your data will be in a more universal format that would be usable to many other apps that you may choose.

Hi - I have exactly the same problem. Used Home Accountz for years and now it wont work on the latest Mac OS so am looking for a way to migrate onto a new platform. Accountz doesn’t export to QIF or any other format other than CSV which I can view in Excel or similar to see header layouts etc. The challenge is finding an application that will either read the CSV and convert it to QIF which I can then use in most software packages, or finding a software platform that will read CSV directly. @Papatya01 - did you find a workable solution? Thanks

Hi. Unfortunately I haven't found a workable solution. I must admit to feeling a bit lost. I had such a problem when I switched over from Microsoft money, so I am really nervous about trying something else and want to know that I have support at the end of a phone should I need it. You would think that Apple would have got something in place for accounting, apart from numbers. If you come across anything, please, please do let me know. I really want to move to the latest IOS but can't. Frustrating to say the least. All the best.
