Kindle iMac unable to download

I need to read a kindle book I bought from Amazon but my 2011 iMac won’t let me download the kindle app.

But your Mac is getting old and you're probably due for an update. I got rid of my 2010 MacBook Pro over a year ago and my new MacBook Air M1 is a delight to use.
