No longer able to send/open/load/receive pictures/videos/memoji messages

Hello!

I have this problem for about 2 or 3 weeks now. I can’t open pictures on iMessage (sent to me) and also I’m not able to send photos. I either get a “not received” notification with an exclamation mark or when it menages to send it, the person I text receives a .jpeg file which can not be open… and vice versa.

I haven’t changed anything in the iMessage settings. It has nothing to do with my network connection because I tried using different network and still had this problem.

Find attached pictures.

Hope you can be helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Hi nora_27,

There can be multiple causes for the behavior you describe and as such, here are a few elements to check.

First, if you have not already, restart your device and retest, as that step can address a number of simple problems.

Then, complete the actions outlined in If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone or iPad to verify that your device is registered for the iMessage service or if not that MMS is enabled. If you are sending and receiving these items outside the iMessage service, your carrier must support MMS for your cellular plan and may need to be contacted.

As you indicate the behavior began around 2-3 weeks ago, consider any changes made about the same point in time to identify potential causes. If you installed any ad-blocking, security, firewall or related software, they may affect how data is transmitted on your device including messages and media.

Regards.
