Physical security for 2023 Mac Mini
Since there is no slot for a cable lock, what is the best option for securing the physical box when I’m away?

My guess would be because those cable locks are only good for stopping theft by convenience. That is, like someone stopping by your office and walking off with an unlocked device. But for a thief, they're useless against something as simple as a wire cutter.
