If your iPad is not recognised, or fails to restore, try using a different USB port. Switching ports will often trigger a reload of the device drivers; allow sufficient time for the drivers to reload - in particular as they may be reloaded from the internat.

If you are using a USB-C port on your computer, try using a USB Type-A port; many reports seen here suggest that where the process fail using the host computer’s USB-C port, switching to a Type-A USB port will resolve the immediate difficulties.

Okay. Having now established that it is the [assumed to be] Apple Music Library on the Mac computer that you are attempting to sync’ with the iPad - we’ve no other alternative than to resolve the problem the Mac.

Having now exhausted all the obvious troubleshooting steps, you would best advised to seek assistance directly from from Apple Support - and request a remote diagnostic test. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page. Alternatively and perhaps easier, you can initiate and manage your support cases using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed on devices, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

You might also visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to test and assess your iPad and Mac:

Despite both Axel and myself having tried, unfortunately, it is sometimes necessary to seek help from Apple.

Don’t forget, as an alternative to going to an Apple Store, you can still raise a support case - using the Apple Support App or website - and Apple will call you. This may be much more convenient than visiting the Genius Bar at your nearest Apple Store or AASP.

We did basically all the steps but they didn't work. Actually, we did all steps on both iphone and ipad because neither were working. We upgraded the OS on the iphone to 15.7.3, but because the ipad is practically new, it has 16.3.1. The phone then started to work, but the ipad still didn't. Might there be a compatibility problem with the latest OS?
