Can't add a valid m4a file to Music library

Hello,

I have a m4a file, which is 5 hours long (it's an audiobook) and I'm not able to add it to my library. Running Monterey 12.4 on a M2 Macbook Air. I'm able to add and sync other mp3 files just fine, but not this particular one. Also tried to to open the file with Music, it also doesn't play. I'm able to play the file with QuickTime though.

Any advice ?

Hi there Professama,

m4a files may not be supported in Apple Music on your Mac. You'll want to try importing this audiobook in Books on your Mac, instead of Apple Music. Learn how here: Import books, audiobooks, or PDFs in Books on Mac - Apple Support

Also, this link provides information about how to control playback for audiobooks in Books on your Mac: Listen to audiobooks in Books on Mac - Apple Support

Take care.
