My iPhone 11 is still full and I can’t upload the apps again

Please HELP! I use my phone fire work which includes taking photos/videos & editing them to post. Recently I started getting a notification that phone storage is full. I have been deleting literally EVERYTHING, even apps that I need, just trying to fix the issue, but now the phone is still full and I can’t upload the apps again. I have previously edited videos that I’ve spent hrs editing that now just show a black screen where the footage should be. I have half of the alotted stoage on the cloud plus I pay for more… so I can’t understand #1, why my data isn’t just storing on the cloud, #2 why I can’t clear ANY SPACE on my phone. I have tried clearing the data, offloading apps, and everything else that I can find to do…. NOTHING WORKS!!!!

Hello,

Local storage on your phone and iCloud storage are two different things.  Not everything on your phone is necessarily in iCloud.

About storage on your device and in iCloud

To control iCloud storage go to Settings > Apple-ID-your-name > iCloud and scroll down to see a list of APPS USING ICLOUD and make any appropriate changes.  Note: not everything on your phone needs to be in iCloud.  You only need critical items that you would want to recover in the event of failure.

Storage on your phone is controlled by Settings > General > iPhone Storage.  Then scroll down to see the apps that are consuming your storage (highest storage usage first).

Then go into the highest usage apps and delete any obsolete data.  Note: many podcasts and videos can be downloaded again if you wish to view them in the future.  Completing this task may free up enough local storage to solve your problem.

Important Note: deleted photos are not necessarily deleted from the phone.  You may have to go to Photos > Albums > Recently Deleted and delete them from there to truly free up storage. Then restart the phone.

Good luck.
