My iPod says is impossible to activate

I’ve had this iPod for several years now and it just doesn’t let me enter anymore, it says I can’t activate it because it can’t access the activation red

How can I solve the activation issue on my iPod touch (7th generation)? I bought a new Gen 7 iPod Touch off ebay. I cannot activate it. I keep getting: Unable to Activate. Your iPod touch could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. I've been getting this message for three days now. I've tried activating via wi-fi, direct connection to my laptop with iTunes and using my iPhone. I always get the same result. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Does anyone have a solution?
