If you select LTE in settings, will Ik turn off 5G completely?

The 5G or LTE settings are different from carrier to carrier and function differently from carrier to carrier. Most often you can choose 5G and the iPhone will choose 5G as long as it is available and then drop to LTE if needed. If you choose LTE then then some carriers allow to switch to 5G if LTE is not present or weak, while other carriers will maintain LTE and drop to 3G if available. This function is regulated by the Carrier Settings software provided and installed “over the air” by your carrier. Sometimes the carrier settings are included with an iOS update.
My recommendation is that you contact your carrier’s tech support team and ask the same question for an accurate answer to your question.
