On my MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2021) with the M1 Max chip running MacOS Monterey 12.6.3 (21G419) the System Data keeps taking more and more of my HardDisk Space. I have removed the TimeMachine local backups yet the difference was minimal. Is there a way to delete or empty this wasted space? I need to insert a database of about 1TB and I'm being told that I do not have enough space available.
The plus ('+') in the first 5 categories means that the application cannot access some files to give a correct answer.
Does the application Disk Inventory X provide more insight?
Have you attempted rebooting into Safe Mode and then into normal mode again? That can free up a lot of temporary storage, amongst other benefits.
Determine where the large data files are with OmniDiskSweeper.
Unfortunately no. OmniDiskSweeper does not see these System Data files.
