Factory reset
I want to give my laptop to somebody, so need to clear it of all of my stuff.
How do I ensure the new owner is able to use it without needing my Apple or any other password?

There is more to it than backup and erase. You may need to sign out of a bunch of stuff first.
I'm kind of surprised it doesn't have step 3 (backup your files) before step 2, but otherwise the steps look good.
