Cursor jumps to end of sentence when typing in safari, etc.
How do I stop my cursor from jumping to the end of my text. This happens when I am searching for something in safari on my mac desktop. Very annoying!
Apple Intelligence is now available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac!

The same has suddenly started happening to me and I'm on Mojave so it's obviously not OS related. I'm on Safari 14.1.2.
It worked fine yesterday so no idea what has changed.
So, let's say I type this: "why doesg ny cursor jump" If I click after the s to remove the g, it does this then the curse jumps to the end, so I have to go back again to remove the n and replace it with a m. Make sense?
Just tried that, still jumps to the end of the sentence. If I click in the middle with my mouse, it stays at the end. I need to press the back button to go to the center of the sentence. I can type one letter then it jumps to the end again.
What happens if you ignore the cursor and continue to type?
It types. But, I am trying to go back in the sentence if there is a typo or I want to add different text. It keeps jumping to the end. I only see this in the search bar on safari.
You could disable the suggestions in Safari > Preferences > Search. I assume that is in Safari for Big Sur.
I'm not actually seeing that behavior in Safari with Monterey or Ventura. I don't have ready access to Big Sur at the moment to test. Perhaps someone else will.
Ok, thank you for trying to help me. Have a good day!
You're welcome. You too and good luck.
