Line on iPad screen

A blinking or fixed off and on horizontal line appears on iPad Pro 11 M2 2022- how to fix this issue?

You can easily determine if you have a hardware or software issue. A reliable method to confirm a screen or other hardware fault is to take a screenshot when the fault is evident - and then review the captured screenshot image...


When reviewed, if the lines are not present in the screenshot image, then you have demonstrated that you have a hardware fault that, sooner or later, may become sufficiently severe that repair or replacement of the iPad are the only options. If the lines are visible in the screenshot, the something other than hardware will be the cause.


Note: When reviewing the image, rotating the iPad screen orientation by 90°, from Portrait to Landscape, will ensure that the image does not coincide with screen defects if present.

If the test indicates that a hardware fault (as, given your description this is very likely) a visit to the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store is recommended - where the technicians will be able to test and assess your iPad. This will likely inform your next steps:

Perhaps this is a Faulty Device?:

Given you have AppleCare or that this is less than one year old, note that you have a one-year, out-of-the-box, limited-warranty with this. So, rather than fiddle with it anymore, I'd say get this serviced. If found to be a faulty device, then it would likely be nothing on you.

it’s been about a week. Sometimes it’s fixed sometimes blinking and sometimes disappeared, but nowadays it’s fixed.

what to do next?

I bought iPad Pro 11 M2 2022 4th generation on 28 January, warranty is uptill 27 January 2024. I have power off, tried software update installation, factory reset too, but the issue is still here in. How do I proceed? TIA

The screenshot diagnostic indicates a hardware fault that will require repair.


If you are located in a country with no direct Apple representation or repair facilities, you will be entirely reliant upon the warranty provided by the retailer from which you purchased your iPad. Assuming the iPad was purchased from an Apple Authorised Retailer, they should be able to help you with repair.
