Should I cancel AppleCare?

Hi guys, I hope you're all doing great. Let me start by saying that back then in early January I bought a third generation iPhone SE (The 2022 model). Tbh, this is the first iPhone I own, all my previous phones were Android. However, I recently spent great part of my savings buying AppleCare.

Now the question is: Do you think I should cancel it?

I'm the kind of person who takes good care of their stuff. Actually, my phone is covered with a case and a hydrogel screen protector already.

One of the resons why I'm kind of regretting this decision to have bought AppleCare is because of ''What ifs''.

For example: What if I have AppleCare and I end up never using it?

So what do you think?

Is it worth it keeping it?

That's a personal decision, which no one but you can decide. Even people who take great care of their iPhone sometimes have accidents. And all it takes is one accident to break your phone and without AppleCare+, the savings you realize from not continuing the coverage, will be gone plus much more.

I personally would never have a portable device like iPhone/iPad/Apple Watch without a valid AppleCare+ plan. And I take beyond excellent care of my devices. Still, one unfortunate accident could be quite costly, if you don't have the coverage.

But that's me. You have to decide what's right for you.

The decision is subjective. Your question is like asking if you should purchase health insurance or auto collision insurance, and if you purchase collision insurance, what deductible to get.

AppleCare, like insurance, will lessen your expense should things go wrong. Perhaps that will ease your mind. Perhaps you would rather take the risk.

The decision is yours. There is no right or wrong answer.
