Apple pencil doesn't charge after long time although docking to iPad Pro since update to iPadOS 16

I have a habit using iPad Pro and pencil from morning to afternoon. Everything is normal but since I updated my iPad Pro 12.9 2021 to iPadOS 16 (my current version is 16.3.1) I have a most uncomfortable is although I always attach Apple Pencil to ipad for charging but every morning, when I open ipad Pro, the pencil is stopped charging, the charging icon is not exist in the widget and the pencil battery drains to below 70%.

I have searched and found that many others are in the same issue as me.

Please check, then fix its into iPadOS 16.4. It will be helpful to me and others.

If you believe that you have discovered a consistent software-related bug, you need to submit a Bug Report via Apple’s Product Feedback portal. For iPad and iPadOS:

Feedback - iPad - Apple


Every Bug Report counts - as without data and a sufficient number of reports, Apple might not assign resources to investigate and resolve the issue.


You might also consider seeking assistance directly from from Apple Support - and request a remote diagnostic test. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page. Alternatively and perhaps easier, you can initiate and manage your support cases using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed on your iPad, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:
