Walkie Talkie stopped working - now can't receive invites

I've been using the Walkie Talkie on the apple watch to speak to my daughter. All been working fine, it was a very useful function. Now it's stopped working. Just says xxxxxxxxxx is not available.


In an effort to get it working i've deleted the contact on Walkie Talkie on both watches. Turned off facetime on both iphones. Left it for a hour and turned it back on. Turned off and re-started both phones and both watches.


When i try to invite my daughter on the walkie talkie app, she does not receive the invite. The same when she tries to add me as a contact. Just sits there as an invited friend on both watches.


Very frustrating !!

Hi Jonathan Baldwin,


If you haven't tried already, let's have you try using FaceTime on your paired iPhone with your daughter.


Does FaceTime work correctly from your paired iPhone?


If you're able to connect there then let's also make sure no VPN apps or profiles are installed that could be interfering with the Apple Watch connection.


These steps will help us isolate where an issue with Walkie Talkie is occurring.

Have you had the chance to invite a different contact to use Walkie Talkie?

If yes, are you experiencing a similar issue when inviting a different contact?


If you haven't, please check for a software update and make sure that you are running the latest version of iOS and watchOS.


While it isn't inherently assured that an update will resolve the issue, updating to the latest software version for your devices can help isolate potential software issues. 

Kindly secure a backup and update.
