Total number of emails not showing

On My IMac, mail shows the total number of emails in any mailbox. However, on my new iPad Pro using Ipadios16, the only number that shows is the unread number to alert me to new mail. I have no idea how many emails I have!

Hello Kathymariebooklady,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We see you have some questions about how to see how much mail you have in the Apple Mail app on your iPad, and we'd like to help. While you're in the application, are you in your inbox? If so, click Mailboxes at the top left, to see if you notice your mail count there.

If not, try updating your iPad, if needed, as this can help with the most recent settings of your device: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support (IN)

Update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly
1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.5.
5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

Let us know if this helps.

Regards.
