Only recently added artists appear on CarPlay

when using car play for music if I try to find music by Artist, only recently added artists appear. Occasionally the entire music artist list appears but an alphabetical search doesn't appear and I'm forced to scroll through my entire 75GB of music to get to someone I might want to listen to. Any suggestions appreciated. 2022 Ford MACH-E
