Touch ID on a Mac mini M2 Pro Stops Working After 30 Minutes
I hope someone can help me with this very frustrating issue I'm having with my Mac mini. I have a brand new Mac mini M2 Pro and Magic keyboard with touch ID. The Touch ID works great when the mini first boots up, then after about a half hour or so it no longer reads my finger print (Note: I still get the on screen prompt to use Touch ID). If I turn off the keyboard and then turn it back on the Touch ID works again, then after a half hour it stops working. Apple support suggested I boot my mini in safe mode to see if that solves the issue, it didn't. I tried connecting the keyboard via the lighting cable directly to the mini and that also didn't solve the problem. The keyboard has had no other issues other than the touch Id problem. Also I haven't experienced any Bluetooth connectivity issues with my keyboard or with any other Bluetooth device paired with my mini. Any solutions to correct this problem would be greatly appreciated!
