Cannot add Yahoo user Apple ID to Home App

I have a roommate with a Yahoo email as his Apple ID. I can invite him to join the home in the Home App, and the invite says "pending," but he doesn't receive any notification or options for setup on his iPhone. Any ideas would be helpful as to how to fix!

FIXED: Home Invites not received in email. Tried multiple times to send invite to my daughter to join my Home. Grok to the rescue. Shame on you Apple for not telling me where the invite was going. Verify Invitation in the Home App on Her Device: • Have your daughter open the Home app on her iPhone or iPad. • Tap the More button (three dots in the upper-right corner). • Select Home Settings. • Look under the Invitations section for any pending invites. • If present, she can tap View, then Accept, followed by Done.

What does he see in the Home app under Invitations?

Go to the Home App
Tap the Circle with 3 dots
Tap Home Settings
He should now have a section that says Invitations and be able to see yours and accept it.
