4k@60 = zoom issues

When I have the camera set for 4k60 I'm automatically locked into whatever camera coincided with my zoom setting at time of BUTTON PRESS(record button). I would be so happy if I could use my $1200 phone to it's fullest capabilities or just the capabilities advertised. HELP ME INDIA, HELP ME TOM CRUISE!

Zoom on camera has changed Since the last iPhone iOS download the zoom operation has changed on the camera. I can no longer go from 1 to 5 smoothly on zoom for video. It stops momentarily on each number which makes the video look jerky when zooming in and out. Have tried hard reset but no good. Any tips ?
