Export Complete with Errors: Photos

Core Issue : I Cannot copy photos from Photos library onto my desktop. ( to be eventually uploaded to FLCKR- that's another headache in itself).

Photos were taken as RAW. The have been opened and edited and re-saved using Apple Photos on a MACPro M2.

Firmware: Ventura 13.2.1

:.

  1. How can I copy the folder onto desktop for eventual uploading?

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 13.2

Hi NitroOxide,

It sounds like you're having an issue exporting photos. For help with exporting, test the steps below found in the article here: Export photos, videos, slideshows, and memories in Photos on Mac

"You can export photos in the original file format in which they were imported into your Photos library. A Live Photo is exported as two separate files: a still-image file and a video file.

  1. In the Photos app  on your Mac, select the photos you want to export.
  2. Choose File > Export > Export Unmodified Original.
  3. If you want to export IPTC information (assigned IPTC metadata and keywords) as a sidecar XMP file, select the Export IPTC as XMP checkbox.

A dialog showing options for exporting photo files in their original format.3. Click the File Name pop-up menu and choose how to name the exported files (this step is optional).

You can name your exported files using the titles you’ve given them in Photos, their filenames, or a filename numbered sequentially. If you choose Sequential, you can specify text to appear before each number (for example, Birthday - 1, Birthday - 2, and so on).

4. Click the Subfolder Format pop-up menu and choose how to divide the exported files into folders.

For example, if you export photos from several different days, you can have Photos export each day as a subfolder named after the day. Choose None to export the photos as individual files without subfolders.

6. Click Export.

7. Choose where to save the exported photo files, then click Export Originals."

You can also find more helpful information here: Use a RAW file as the original in Photos on Mac, and here: How the Photos app and iCloud Photos handle RAW images

Cheers.

Do you want to save the original RAW files or the edited versions? or both?

This is determined by the Export command you are using.

  • To save the original RAW files, use the command "File > Export > Export unmodified original", as described by bailier in the previous response.
  • To save the edited versions with the adjustments applied, use the command "File > Export > Export ... photos".

How did you export your photos? Did you copy and paste them, or did you use the "Export" command?
