For the life of me, I cannot seem to turn off Facebook's birthday notifications. I turned them off in the calendar app. I've also gone to settings>calendar>default alert times>birthdays>none and I STILL receive the notifications about people I haven't thought of in years, and don't really wish to. Please, Apple, tell me how to remove these annoying notifications! Thank you

It appears the birthday notifications are enabled in Facebook settings. Here's an article that explains how to change your notification settings in Facebook: How do I adjust my mobile push notifications from Facebook
Once you're in Notification Settings, scroll down and tap on Birthdays. You should have the option to disable "Allow Notifications on Facebook".
