problem with Face ID and brightness

Phone's Face ID is not working and the brightness is very low and doesn't increase even when i try to in the Control Centre. I restart my phone and it works fine but then every couple of hours the screen has very low brightness and face ID doesn't work. this has happened a couple of times now.

Hey. Same prob cept I have a 12 mini. It was raining a lot where I’m at And my coat pocket got wet. And I passed out after being fatigued from pumping water away from my house most the night. I left the phone in the coat pocket. Which I never do because the phones get hot and need to breath. The coat pocket was just wet from putting my hands in there. But I left the coat near a space heater. When I woke the next day I had the issues. Face ID not working. Very dim screen. And when I went to update it like the article said my phone began spontaneously restarting. Anyways. The dim issue can be worked around by going to your display and brightness. In settings. Then scroll all the way down. And go to I think display zoom or screen zoom. Go into that section and just click on the one opposite of what you have it set on. Then adjust the lettering size to the lowest and put on bold setting. Turn off auto brightness and mine becomes lit up again. If I restart it goes back to dim. So I just go to settings and switch my display zoom option to the one not clicked on and it turns the brightness back on. It’s not a fix but it works for me. Maybe you. And others. It just alleviated the need to get to the Apple Store asap cuz the no Face ID does suck. But not being able to see your screen is not something you can just say ehhh. I’ll get to it when I get to it. The dimming tho is horribly bad. I don’t know why this workaround works and it just doesn’t work normally. I know it can get fully bright again but it’s being a pos about it. Anyways. Hope that helps. And no i didn’t see how long ago this question was posted. Personally there’s answers to questions I find around forums that go unanswered for years and then someone randomly responds w helpful information that then gets the this question was posted blah blah years ago and is now being closed. If you still have a question repost blah blah blah. Lol. Just saying. I assume the more open forums they have open and not active the more pressure on the server or what not. But I Don’t know. I have apple care so I’m prob Gonna see if they can just replace the battery and save some money instead of paying for the express replacement. I had read somewhere that this person had the same issue and had to argue w a tech to just replace the battery because the guy w the iphone problem said it was having an Internal arch causing the camera and lasers to turn off or disable to protect them from the electrical arching going on inside your phone. I guess they wouldn’t change the battery becus it was saying above 80% life so he did it himself and the camera started working fine and it was just a battery issue. But who knows. My battery needs a replacement soon anyways. So ima try that just to see. I rather not turn in my phone for a refurbished one cuz they never replace the LED light and I don’t want someone else’s phone that got refurbished. Just asking for oil leaks and a transmission failure. Lol.

Hello hanifah226,

We see that you've already reviewed the article If an alert says Face ID has been disabled on your iPhone or iPad Pro - Apple Support. Were you able to complete the steps in the article?

If not, you may find the following steps helpful:

1. Update your iPhone or iPad to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS.
2. Check if there is an issue with Face ID in your iPhone's parts and service history. To do this, open the Settings app, tap General, then tap About.
3. If you still can't enroll your face or unlock your device with Face ID, you can take your device to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider, or contact Apple Support about your iPhone or your iPad.

If you already followed those steps, please reach out to Apple Support for more help.

Thanks.
