You will not lose your Podcast subscriptions if you delete the app. Everything is saved in your Apple ID - just to be sure, I just tested it on my own iPhone, and my podcasts are still there after I deleted the app and downloaded it again.

Try closing the Podcast app completely. Double Tap your Home Button and swipe the Podcast app up and away. Then, turn off your iPhone - wait a bit and turn on again. Try if your Podcast app will open. Remember to be connected to either Wi-Fi or Cellular Data.

If this didn't make a difference, delete the Podcast app from your iPhone. Long press the app, select Remove App, then Delete App. After that, restart your iPhone again and go into the App Store and download the Podcast app and try again.

I understand. But if you use the Apple Podcast app, your podcasts and podcast subscriptions are saved to your Apple ID, so you don't lose anything by deleting the app and installing it again.

1. Delete Podcast App (Remember to delete completely, and not just move it to the App Library)

2. Restart the iPhone

3. Download the Podcast app again and see if it works.
