Can't see /opt subdirectory

Using Terminal I located the file asymptote.pdf at

/opt/homebrew/Cellar/asymptote/2.85/share/doc/asymptote/asymptote.pdf

(it's just a manual of a program I use, installed through homebrew)

Now, if I open Finder and look under Macintosh HD I see no subdirectory named /opt.

But the directory should be there, or not? Is it just invisible to Finder?

The file *is* there because I can open it with Adobe Reader.

Thanks

Maurizio

This and other directories are hidden by default. In the Finder press Command-Shift-period to toggle the display of hidden files and folders. When activated you will see them in a grey color to differentiate from others.

/opt
