how do I turn on my camera

my camera isn't working, I only see black. I tried searching in terminal but don't know what to enter there

iMac 21.5″, macOS 12.6

Does it not even work in Photo Booth?

Have you gone to Sys Prefs>Security & Privacy>Privacy>Camera & allowed Apps to use it?
