I've tried lots of different software, and I've even tried a few recommended things without software (or with built-in software like Disk Utility) and none of it has worked. I can't open it, because it just gives me an error about something that has to do with filesystems. Does anybody know how to burn this ISO?

I have no clue, I know it's a Linux ISO. Would you possibly be able to recommend free applications that can copy the contents of an ISO and burn them to a DVD? I need to get an operating system installed on one of my laptops.

Excellent find there for the Linux Mint instructions as they apply to just about every Linux distribution .iso out there. I believe they should also work for the Windows .iso images as well when burning the Windows .iso image to a DVD. Unfortunately Etcher won't work to "burn" a Windows .iso file to a USB stick.
I do see the OP has in their screenshot several Windows .iso images. The macOS instructions
Do you know what the underlying file system is on the ISO. It might not be one macOS can read/write.
