Dolby Atmos Not Working

I have a macbook pro from 2012 running macos catalina which supports atmos but it won't let me play it when using external speakers.

Any Media (video or music) won't play on my MacBook Pro 16 m1 if I'm using internal speakers So I have this problem with my MacBook Pro 2021 M1. I have the latest macOS SONOMA 14.3. There is no sound coming from the inbuilt speakers and because of that I can't play any video on a browser or on my hard drive. If I use external audio interface such as focusrite or bluetooth headphones media will play normally. I reinstalled OS and it didn't solve the problem. Anyone else faced this problem and knows any fix?

Logic Pro Internal Dolby Atmos Plug In not available Hello, I have a strange phenomenon here: When I load one of the two spatial demo songs, Logic Pro 10.8.1 on my new Mac Studio comes up with an error message: "The plug-in "Atmos" - type "10 - 12" is not available on your system. Choose a different plugin or exit Logic Pro and install the plugin on your Mac Studio so you can use it in the project." The plugin will then appear with the famous yellow exclamation mark in the master's plugin slot. I can then use the Dolby Atmos plug-in again, but it doesn't work correctly, i.e. it doesn't do any upmixes and the signals that are output are heavily disturbed and sometimes routed incorrectly When testing with your own Dolby Atmos project, the Dolby Atmos plug-in appears as expected, but also makes the same errors, i.e. no rendering possible. My attempts to get rid of it: Switching to Rosetta Mode and back Reinstall Logic Pro 10.8.1 via App Store Starting an old Logic version (10.7.2) on the same computer Start without 3rd party plug-ins Deleting Logic10.plist in Preferences Reinstalling the Music Apps folder in "Music" Restart the computer System: Mac Studio M2 Ultra 128GB, Ventura 13.6.6 I have no idea what else I could do. Does anyone know where the internal plug-ins are located? Then I could possibly copy the plugin from my Macbook - it runs Dolby Atmos without any problems, i.e. I can play the projects in Dolby Atmos and upmix them to 7.1.4... I'm grateful for every idea! Unable to load audio driver - Cubase 12 Hello. I have a 16" 2019 Macbook pro running Ventura with 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 running Ventura 13.3.1 When running loading large cubase 12 projects the software tells me that it cannot load the audio driver. This can be built-in internal audio driver in my mac, or one of two other audio drivers (focusrite-USB or allen and heath-Firewire). When this happens I am unable to a) use cubase b) play any other sound on my mac (e.g., youtube gives audio render error, apple music just makes no sound, VLC the same, soundcloud just won't load the page, the spotify app says it's unable to play). I've been in contact with cubase now and after trying a number of things they told me to contact the audio device hardware manufacturers. They also told me that there is an issue with the audio driver in the Ventura OS. This does not happen with all cubase projects, only ones which use a significant amount of processing power/memory. I think I have the latest drivers for everything. This has been happening for about 6 months now. If anyone has any ideas of how I can solve it I'd be very grateful. Are there log files for the apple audio driver which I might be able to look at to see why this is happening? Thank you. Hamish

We recommend that you try the steps in the link below to listen to Dolby Atmos on your computer.

About Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos in Apple Music

To perform the recommended troubleshooting steps via the link above, complete the steps in the section titled "Choose how to listen to Dolby Atmos on your Mac."

1. Update your Mac to the latest version of macOS.

2. Open the Apple Music app.

3. In the menu bar, choose Music > Preferences or Music > Settings.

4. Click the Playback tab.

5. Choose Automatic, Always On, or Off.

If you choose Automatic, here’s what you need

Supported songs automatically play in Dolby Atmos when you're listening with:

* AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, AirPods (3rd generation), or Beats Fit Pro with Spatial Audio turned on

* AirPods (1st or 2nd generation)

* BeatsX, Beats Solo3 Wireless, Beats Studio3, Powerbeats3 Wireless, Beats Flex, Powerbeats Pro, Beats Solo Pro, or Beats Studio Buds

* The built-in speakers on a MacBook Pro (2018 model or later), MacBook Air (2018 model or later), or iMac (2021 model)

If you choose Always On, here’s what you need

If you want to use other headphones that don’t support automatic playback, choose Always On.

We recommend the steps above because they will show you how to listen to select songs in Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos on your laptop.
