How does Applebot benefit website owners?

I understand how Applebot benefits Apple, but how does Applebot (crawling a website, using server resources, and consuming bandwidth) benefit a website?

My website gets crawled regularly by Applebot but I only get 0-1 visits/day from Apple Maps.

Seems like Applebot greatly benefits Apple at the expense of website owners.

That page is how I got here. Down at the bottom is "Start a discussion in Apple Support Communities". So, that's what I did. I'll try sending them an email, but I doubt I will get a human response.
