That's not an upgrade message. That's just a patch so your Mac and phone can talk to each other. Accept it. It will not upgrade your Mac.

Unfortunately, this is not possible. You'll just have to ignore it.
i'm receiving these messages because whenever i connect my iphone to iMac i get this message; "A software update is required to connect to Peter's iPhone" "Would you like to download and install this update now?"...
i don't need to connect, i use a macbook pro to backup my phone.
thank you for taking the time to respond to my question.

They are not receiving update messages. They are receiving this…
If your Mac says that a software update is required to connect to iPhone or iPad

Yes. I see that now. But when I responded, I thought they were talking about the same Ventura upgrade notification that I get on my 2014 MacBook Pro.
Sometimes, I go through the list of interesting questions and open them all up in tabs. Then I work through the tabs. In this case, there were some additional clarifications that I hadn't seen when I had originally opened the tab. It is possible to fix this, or at least post a "new content" notification like the subscriptions page does, but perhaps the back-end can't handle that volume.
Which model and year Mac do you have?
iMac (27-inch, Late 2013) OS X El Capitan
do not want to update because i have Creative Suite 6 (legit/purchased) and if i update i will be forced to rent CS forever.
A 2013 iMac cannot run Ventura even if you wanted to. You shouldn't be getting any Ventura message.
ok. thank you.
You're welcome.
