why does my iPad ring when I’m getting a phone call and it’s silent on iPhone? And when I call my iPhone from my home phone it doesn’t give me a ring tone at all it’s totally silent.

Why do you have a different email

account in Face time than your main Apple ID? To correct it do this...

Settings, Messages, Turn off iMessage

Settings, Face Time, Turn off Face Time

Restart the phone.

Settings, Messages, Turn on iMessage, SMS, MMS

Settings, Messages, send & Receive, Start new conversations from,  select your Apple ID which should now be there.

I can’t answer “why”, but I can confirm that I have the same situation; when I get a call my iPad rings, and my Watch rings, but not my phone. I can answer either the watch or the iPad, but not the phone, and continuity does not let me switch to the phone. I fixed it, as LD150 suggested, by turning off Calls on other devices.

My hypothesis is that I also have Wi-Fi calling enabled, and the call will ring on the first device that is online with Wi-Fi. And iPhones, when their screen is locked, turn off Wi-Fi. They will wake Wi-Fi when a call comes in, but that takes a couple of seconds, and the iPad Wi-Fi is always on so it rings first.
