Stolen iPhone, erased or not?

My iPhone was stolen yesterday, I went into the Find My app on my iPad and selected to erase my iPhone, at first it said erase pending but now it doesn't, now it only says cancel erase and near the iPhone icon it has a trash bin, I never received a confirmation e-mail that it was erased.

My question is, did it erase my iPhone? Or is it still pending and the message disappeared

(When I selected the erase device option it did sate that I can still track it though Find My even after being erased

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 16

Hi luiscorrea971,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities. It seems that the device has not been erased yet but if it goes online again, it will be. If you want to avoid erasing your device, cancel the erase. For further support, reach out to Apple Support here: Contact - Official Apple Support

Have a great day.

Beware of a common phishing scam: You may get a text or email from “Apple” or “Apple Security” (or sometimes “Police”) saying your phone has been found and to click on a link to see its location. This is NEVER from Apple or from law enforcement; it is from the thief or fence to steal your Apple ID and identity. Delete any such message without responding to it. Apple never gets involved in lost or stolen devices→Avoid phishing emails, fake ‘virus‘ alerts, phony support calls, and other scams
